The production of terroir-driven, unique wines with great character represents the central identity of our estate. In the two single vineyards - Vigna "Castel Ringberg" in Caldaro and Vigna "Kastelaz" in Tramin - this idea is found in perfection. Here, wines are produced that continually deserve the predicate of "uniqueness".
VIGNA DESIGNATION
Vigna is an additional geographical indication and describes a strictly defined and geographically limited vineyard. Each "Vigna" must be approved by the regional authorities and designs a historical or topographic name. It is the finest expression of "terroir" wines and an important part of Italian wine culture. The highest art in producing excellent wines lies in crafting wines that faithfully reflect their history and origin. This means that their character can be traced back to the unique soil structure of each parcel, their microclimatic conditions, altitude, orientation, slope, and the meticulous manual work involved.
VIGNA CASTEL RINGBERG
The castle is gracefully framed by vineyards above Lake Caldaro, and with its twenty hectares, it is the largest contiguous Vigna in Alto Adige.
Narrowly terraced, the extremely steep vineyard above Tramin is one of the most exclusive southern-facing exposures in Alto Adige and origin of the award-winning Gewürztraminer Vigna "Kastelaz".
