terroir

The altitude of the vineyard, located between 330 and 400 meters above sea level, creates an optimal microclimate for the production of wines with a distinctive character. The mild climate of Lake Caldaro is complemented by the cool night breezes and the strong southern afternoon wind "Ora," which brings dry air to the vineyard. The extreme care taken in tending the vineyard, with a strong respect for nature, and the deliberately low yields contribute to making the "Castel Ringberg" vineyard a cradle of exceptional wines.

VINIFICATION

Gentle pressing, static clarification, fermentation at a controlled temperature of about 20°C (68°F). Most of the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks, a small part in large wooden barrels of 25hl each, where it matures for 10 months each, followed by a maturation in the bottle.

TASTING

The Pinot Grigio Vigna “Castel Ringberg” has a strong, clear straw yellow color. A multilayered, complex bouquet of fruit, especially ripe pears, a touch of sage and lime blossom, as well as spicy notes, characterizes the bouquet. Structure and elegance, strength and harmony dominate on the palate, combined with creamy richness and density. A Pinot Grigio with plenty of character!

FOOD RECOMMENDATION

Its fresh acidity and harmonious play of aromas make this wine an ideal food companion from aperitifs to main dishes with vegetables and fish.

WINE CRITIC

Silky and mouthwatering on the palate, with light, pleasing plumpness and a well-meshed range of flavors, from an underpinning of smoke and stone, rich accents of toasted almond and vanilla to an expressive mix of ripe pear, peach skin and white cherry fruit elements. Creamy finish.
